About me
I started my career in Ottawa, where I worked part-time for The Canadian Press.
Since then I have reported and edited for Reuters and Nepali Times, and
freelanced for outlets, as a writer, photographer, and video-maker.
I was Spokesperson for the United Nations human rights office in Nepal, 2007-10,
and have also worked as a consultant editor for various UN agencies since the 2000s.
In 2010, | started doing communications work for a global health non-profit, work that continues today.
In 2020, I started the podcast Nepal Now, which you can see above.
Since 2005, | have lived for stretches in Canada and Nepal. Currently I'm based in Kathmandu
and take regular reporting trips outside the capital.
